The Story Behind My Ceramics
My name is Sabina, I'm 36, I'm Polish and I'm a sculptor working with clay for the last few years. I've spend last year living in Gozo, Malta and now I'm back to Ireland, where the whole journey with clay started.
I love making art since I was a child. I've learned how to sculpture all by myself and for me making handmade works like a personal art therapy. I like working with different medias, forms, colours, and styles, but the most common things in my art is creating body parts, playing with face expressions and creating hand-sculpted decorations.
I was making ceramics in years 2021-2024. So far I've been cooperating with polish art gallery/ auction house ToTuart in Warsaw, I had my first group exhibition in ChristineXArtGallery in Sliema, Malta, I still work with ArtHall gallery in Victoria, Gozo, I took part in 11th edition of Ceramic Festival in Xlendi Bay in Gozo and I used to cooperate with two irish art and crafts shops based in Galway city. I had also a pleasure to give art lessons for adults, teaching them how to make human face based on general rules and proportions.
What I am planning to do in 2025 is to stop making ceramics and firing clay in kiln and instead replace it with silicone moulds and casting. It will give me an option to create multiple versions of one sculpture and, thanks to that, lower the final price and for you, as my potential client, an chance to order more personalized product in specific colour.
